Norfolk Accident Rescue Service
Norfolk Accident Rescue Service (NARS) is a charity which provides expert medical help at the scene of serious road crashes and other emergencies. Our doctors and Critical Care paramedics have received advanced training to provide specialised trauma care and carry equipment designed to cope with the most challenging of medical emergencies.
All NARS members provide their services voluntarily in their spare time. The organisation is funded solely by charitable donations as the organisation receives no government or NHS funding.
NARS Doctors and paramedics volunteer their time to enhance the level of care provided for patients who suffer serious injury or acute medical illness. The volunteers carry specialist equipment designed to cope with the most challenging of medical emergencies. In the ambulance service call upon us to assist in the management of the sickest patients – at home or at the roadside
They have been providing critical care since 1971. NARS Originally started as a General Practitioner immediate care scheme where GPs would attend the scenes of road traffic accidents in their area. The scheme soon developed into a charity specialising in working with ambulance crews to improve patient care at accidents throughout Norfolk.
